The Aeotec Z-Pi 7 is a 700-series Z-Wave Plus V2 GPIO module for building a controller around a compatible Raspberry Pi or Orange Pi Zero. It provides the Z-Wave radio and serial API, including S2 security and SmartStart support, for host software such as Home Assistant with Z-Wave JS.

This is a development module, not a complete hub. It requires a supported host computer, operating system, controller software and careful GPIO configuration. Home Assistant notes that GPIO adapters can need manual Z-Wave JS connection setup and are more complex to pass through than USB adapters. Confirm physical compatibility, regional frequency and available serial access before purchase.
