The Aqara Door and Window Sensor P2 is a Matter-over-Thread contact sensor for checking whether a door, window, drawer or cabinet is open or closed. It connects through a compatible Thread Border Router, making it suitable for modern Matter smart home setups without relying on a Zigbee hub.
The sensor can support local automations, status alerts and energy-saving routines, such as pausing heating when a window is opened. Aqara Hub M3 users can also access additional Aqara app functions for more detailed configuration.
