Crucially, this version is also compatible with the Z-Wave protocol, meaning that in addition to seamlessly integrating with other Shelly devices, it can also wirelessly communicate with any other Z-Wave compatible smart device. Shelly's Z-Wave Door/Window Sensor supports an extremely low battery-usage profile with up to two years on a single charge, and can be included as Security 2 Authenticated to encrypt communication throughout the Z-Wave network. The sensor is also extremely compact and discreet, and designed to be placed on the inside o the window or door frame to remain invisible and unobtrusive.
