Ubiquiti's UA-G3 builds upon the previous Generation-2 Access Reader (UA-G2), retaining all the features of the previous access reader like compatibility with the UA-CARD NFC cards and suite of UI apps, but now also featuring native compatibility with Touch Pass. This is Ubiquiti's new access control feature that's designed to work with devices like phones and watches, meaning it's possible for authorised users to gain entry to UA-G3 protected doors by scanning their own devices on the reader. In addition to the access control methods, the UA-G3 features a tough IP55-rated in-wall gang box, meaning it can be mounted in outdoor covered environments as well as indoor. This gang box also features UL 294 Level 1 resistance to destructive attack, meaning it's vandal resistant, and features a 10/100 RJ45 port for wired connectivity. This RJ45 port also supports PoE-In, making the UA-G3 easily installed with only a single cable for both network connectivity and power.
