Its maximum range of 5km makes it an ideal addition to Shelly networks supporting city automation devices like traffic lights, making adjustments based on time and weather; however it's equally suited to maintaining reliable IoT connectivity over great distances on farms, across multiple buildings, or on campuses. In addition to greater distances, the LoRa add-on also helps Shelly device connectivity penetrate signal-baffling materials like concrete and metal, improving wireless connectivity inside buildings, and requires minimal setup beyond slotting the add-on onto a compatible Shelly device.
