Aeotec SmokeShield adds connected Z-Wave reporting to compatible Ei Electronics smoke alarms.
SmokeShield is a compact Z-Wave 800 Series adapter that fits inside compatible Ei650-series smoke alarms and sends alarm events to a supported Z-Wave hub. It gives a smart home system a way to react to a smoke alarm event, for example by triggering notifications or carefully planned safety automations.
SmokeShield is not a standalone smoke detector.
It requires a compatible Ei Electronics smoke alarm, which is sold separately, and a compatible UK/EU Z-Wave controller. The alarm itself remains responsible for smoke detection, local sound, and you engage with the alarm itself for any required testing and maintenance.
